one of my favorite places to go while i lived in santa barbara
may i ask what you were taking pictures of?
this one and [exiting the rabbit hole] were shot right after getting escorted off the road by the police. i guess shooting through a power plant is frowned upon.
yesterday i bought the apple magic mouse. apples [sort of] new wireless mouse which incorporates the iphone touch technology. meaning you can scroll by sliding your finger down the middle / go forward and backward by using two finger swipe in either direction / and move around an image by simply moving your finger around as though it was on a laptop trackpad.
apple has always impressed me with how clean and simple their designs are. when i see other products in the computer industry it looks like the design was an after thought. adding bulky stupid things that just dont make sense. never the case with apple. design is just as important as the use. even their design on the packaging is simply beautiful as well / all the way down to how they package instructions and papers.
the first shot is of the mouse inside the packaging! and the next is just the mouse by itself
this will start to be a new trend on here in the up coming months. as technology keeps advancing, you will start to see more photographers shooting video along with stills. why, might you ask? because now digital still cameras are capable of shooting video. and not just any video. pretty damn good quality hd video. on vimeo.com you can see tons of films shot with the canon 5d mark ii / canon 7d / canon 1d mark iv / nikon d300s and there are a couple more i just cant think of them. hopefully in the near future i will be finally upgrading cameras and will have the capability to shoot video. this excites me. i did video stuff before i did photography so it will be fun.
this was shot with my buddies HOBIE and JAMES back in summer ’09 on the 5d mark ii. i just found these clips for the first time since then pretty much so i made a short clip.
click the link below the movie to watch it in hd on vimeo

i really enjoy shooting people in the ocean. and not just surfing but also just sitting still….motionless. completely at the oceans will to move how it moves.
when i go surfing i find it calming to just lay on my back and look up at the sky while feeling the ocean move beneath me. its pretty crazy to think about how much of the earth is taken up by water. and then its even crazier to think about this “We know what the surface of the moon is better than we know what the surface of the sea floor is.” James Gardner, as quoted by M. Barber in “Hydrographic crew surveys underwater quake damage” in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer Reporter (March 21, 2001).
thats right. a jeep rainbow
this is for my buddy Hobie. just when you thought my car couldn’t get anymore badass…
